In addition to the City Plan Amendement and CRA Blight Study, there are currently a number of studies underway at the city and county level that will shape and define the future of the Crenshaw and Leimert Park community.Other major city and county activities that will impact this community include:a moratorium on new drills in the Baldwin Hills Oil Fields until the completion of an EIR study by the County Planning Department;an EIR study on the impact of a proposed rapid transit cooridor or rail system down Crenshaw Blvd;a master plan for the Kenneth Hahn Regional Park. For more information attend the Empowerment Congress West Area Neighborhood Council meetings.
The CRA Regional Office recently filed a five year plan update on the Crenshaw Project area. The plan was presented to the CRA Board of Commissioners without the benefit of community input. Save Leimert sent the attached letter to the Mayor and CRA pointing to an ongoing concern for the lack of an effective community process. We encourage you to call or write the Mayor and share your concerns.
